MESSING AROUND 🖌️ Had great fun in the studio this evening experimenting with some new techniques and generally making a mess. I've been using inks, watercolours and salt to create these backgrounds that are somewhere between galaxies and oceans. It's pretty mesmerising to watch the salt absorb the wet paint, then when it dries you brush it off and you're left with a textured effect. Thinking I might team these up with some text to create some greetings card designs. GOALS 💪 Spent some time this weekend reflecting on my work in 2019 and making plans for the coming year. I'm going to be sticking with the challenge of painting a different animal each month to build up a 2021 calendar of Awesome Animals. I also want to create some designs specfically for greetings cards and introduce some personalised options to my Etsy shop. But the key thing for me this year is to push myself to develop my painting practice - which means more sketches and more experimentation.
